WEEKLY ACCOMPLISHMENT
WEEK 1
In the first day of the work immersion, we met our foreman Marquez who came from NOVELCO ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE. First she introduces herself to us and discuss the DO’s and Don’ts in class that we need to follow. As a student we need to know the do’s and don’ts in order not to offended our Trainor and ourselves. Following this regulation is important because this regulation may help us when we encounter any problem in our workplace. In this week we learned about the discipline in workplace and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). this week we cleared the part of Nueva Vizcaya that has many trees attached to primary wires or high voltage wire.
WEEK II
This week we were asked by our line mine to continue the clearing and trouble shouting in entired of Nueva vizcaya. And yeah it is too hard to clearing but we need to do it. Though we need it for us to meld ourselves to be the best electricians. The work Immersion provide us a “real workplace” experience which may help to improve our skill a real environment and to improve our prospect in life.
NARRATIVE
As stated in the DepEd Order No. 39, s. 2018 entitled Clarification and Additional Information to DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017 (Guidelines on Work Immersion), Work Immersion is a requirement for TVL track while it is optional for Academic, Arts and Design, and Sports tracks. Refers to the subject of the Senior High School Curriculum, which involves hands-on experience or work simulation in which learners can apply their competencies and acquired knowledge relevant to their track
As a graduating student under the TVL. EIM track I can say it was a very challenging yet fulfilling one. I can say that I have no regrets of choosing EIM strand because I have learned a lot and gained skills that I could apply in my entire life. Immersion is not a joke for all of students who work and learn more knowledge and more skills.
As a requirement for graduation, we grade 12 students has to undergo work immersion to chosen industry partners. Here, we are able to showcase the knowledge and skills we have gained from our school. Our teacher in immersion teaches us the competencies of immersion such as work ethics, policies of the workplace, and to how to make resume and application letter. We are also taught about occupational health and safety in the workplace, how to deal with client, and to our co-workers. After knowing all these things, our teacher asks as to make our own resume and application letter after which we have to seek different requirement such as barangay certificate, certificate of indigency barangay clearance, medical certificate, polo clearance municipal trial court clearance and the vaccination card. after completing those clearances our teacher discusses the MOCK interview process where in we are going to face the challenge to be interviewed by Mr. Garner Gambito one of the teacher of NVSU. During the interview I am asked about myself, I was also asked several questions like what are my skills as an electrician what are my priorities, how to mingle with other people while in front of the interviewer I am so nervous because the interviewer is very lenient and intelligent but I am so happy I was able to overcome my fear and I was able to finished the interview with pride and a big smile.
After Mock interview, we are now ready for deployment, our teacher gave the schedule and introduce us to our industry partner. My skills have improved significantly as a result of the immersion, and I have learned a lot from my manager. As long as you have confidence in your abilities, you can actually learn a lot.
On the first day of my deployment, I was so nervous, I had that feeling of anxiety, mix with emotions, I have a lot of what ifs? What if they are strict, what if they are not kind but to my surprise, they are all friendly and caring. In my stay on NUVELCO I was able to learn many new things, at the first day of work immersion the foreman of solano said that we have
to observe first what the lineman's doing. At first, we can't communicate with them because we are shy but after a while we are bonding with them. I am so grateful to be in NUVELCO because they always say what should or shouldn't do in some kinds of situation. I have learned many things I was able to learn how to strip a service entrance, how to mingle with people and with my co- workers. I was able to manage my time and set my priorities as an employee
I am very much thankful and blessed that I was able to experience this work immersion. I can say that I was honed not only with the skills but as a person.
